Ms Marvel #5 Second Print Embiggens On eBay After Trailer Drops

A couple of months ago, the second printing of Ms Marvel Vol 3 #5 was selling for a couple of bucks on eBay. Last month it had jumped up to around $20. Quite a jump, maybe someone knew what was coming. Because today with the drop of the Ms Marvel trailer and poster for the upcoming Disney+ TV series, both the poster and the final shot of the trailer echo that cover, by Jamie McKelvie and Matt Wilson.

Kamala Khan, created by Sana Amanat, G. Willow Wilson, and Adrian Alphona, is the fourth character at Marvel Comics to take the name Ms. Marvel. Khan first appeared in Captain Marvel #14 in 2013 as a 16-year-old Pakistani-American from Jersey City, New Jersey, who idolizes Carol Danvers. Unknown to her, she is also an Inhuman and was triggered by the worldwide release of Terrigen Mists to gain shapeshifting powers, which she uses in battle as a superhero. Khan was given her own series in 2014, becoming Marvel Comics' first Muslim character to headline her own comic book. The TV series is scheduled to be released on Disney+ in June 2022 as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Khan played by Iman Vellani, with Saagar Shaikh, Aramis Knight, Matt Lintz, Zenobia Shroff, and Mohan Kapur also starring with El Arbi and Fallah, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, and Meera Menon hired as the series' directors. Filming began in early November 2020, shooting in Atlanta, Georgia, and New Jersey, before concluding in Thailand in May 2021. Vellani will reprise her role in the live-action Marvel Studios film The Marvels next year.
