A Comic Show – From Original Sin To Futures End
Aaron Haaland of A Comic Shop in Orlando, Florida, writes:
Hey Fandom! I survived the biggest Free Comic Book Day ever, and am back with Futures End, Original Sin, and Spider-Men!
Over at DC, Futures End is high octane fun. Yes, it's all "five years later", but its crazy how much cooler these characters can be with the editorial restraints or protectionist concerns. Instead of worlds living and dying it's individual heroes, but so far it's very engaging. Lemire's Batman Superman one shot featured Ray Palmer as the Atom and a return to his Agents of S.H.A.D.E. And Snyder's Batman Zero Year is out in hard cover.
Original Sin #1 really delivered for me. Sure there was little to no build up to this event, and I don't care about the Watcher, but it's Jason Aaron. I'm already on board for this weird murder mystery, and loving the crazy mix of characters as they split into teams to solve it. Oh, and the bouncy Watcher eye balls are a neat giveaway. Rucka's Cyclops #1 was a space pirate father son emotional journey. Moon Knight is my favorite of the All New Now's, Ellis is on his game here.
Amazing Spider-Man 1.1 is a year one, or more specifically first 60 days, story. Slott's learning to crawl is off to an interesting start. Miles Morales, The Ultimate Spider-Man #1 would have been a great first issue even if it didn't have that last page! (Don't look at the last page before reading it, and don't spoil it here for others). And the X-Men: No More Humans OGN mashed up all the current X-Teams in an epic in continuity single volume story.
