'Castle Rock' Schisma: Looking Ahead to 'Henry Deaver,' Back at Our 'Past Perfect' Review

With only two episodes remaining in the first season of Hulu's horror-drama anthology Castle Rock from Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason, it looks like we're finally going to get to the bottom of what exactly happened to Henry (Andre Holland) 27 years ago. As we can see from the preview for this week's penultimate episode 'Henry Deaver', those revelations might bring answers that Henry, Molly (Melanie Lynskey), and even the town of Castle Rock itself won't be able to survive:

Castle Rock s01e09 'Henry Deaver': A world beyond these walls.

To get you caught up on where Bleeding Cool stands with the series so far, take a look back at our reviews of the season's previous three episodes (beginning with last week's 'Past Perfect'):

Castle Rock s01e08 'Past Perfect': Newcomers set up shop in Castle Rock, Henry follows a clue.

Castle Rock s01e07 'The Queen': Memories haunt Ruth Deaver.

Castle Rock s01e06 'Filter': Henry's son visits from Boston; a funeral stirs up unsettling memories.

A psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse, Castle Rock combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King's best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland.

The fictional Maine town of Castle Rock has figured prominently in King's literary career: Cujo, The Dark Half, IT and Needful Things, as well as novella The Body and numerous short stories such as Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption are either set there or contain references to Castle Rock. Castle Rock is an original suspense/thriller — a first-of-its-kind reimagining that explores the themes and worlds uniting the entire King canon, while brushing up against some of his most iconic and beloved stories.
