Dumbledore's Sexuality Might Be Explored In Future Fantastic Beasts Sequels

It's not a new revelation that Albus Dumbledore might be gay. J.K. Rowling has quite famously said in the past that she thinks of the character in that light, and that his biggest love was Gellert Grindelwald.

As we have found out very recently too, Johnny Depp will be playing Grindelwald and a younger version of Dumbledore will be turning up in future Fantastic Beasts sequels. With that in mind, Screen Crush report Rowling was asked if we can expect to see that relationship on screen at a press conference. While she didn't confirm, she certainly did make some hints at it. She said:

Well, I can't tell you everything I would like to say because this is obviously a five-part story, so there's lots to unpack in that relationship. I will say that you will see Dumbledore as a younger man, and quite a troubled man because he wasn't always the sage. He was always very clever, but we'll see what I think was the formative period of his life. As far as his sexuality is concerned, watch the space.

Honestly, considering the characters and how important I imagine Grindelwald to be to the series, I reckon it might actually be harder to avoid answering this than not. I can't imagine a world where we don't get a pretty definitive answer in the future. I think it would be really great if they pulled the trigger too.
