Empire has some pictures from The Dark Knight Rises. But what's in them?
The latest issue of popular film magazine Empire offers a choice of two covers, each depicting a pivotal character in Christopher Nolan's next Batman movie.
The first is, well, Batman. Scarred by the events of The Dark Knight, which ended with the Caped Crusader on the run from the forces of law and order that he set out to help, Batman appears to have retrained as a supermarket checkout clerk.
Well, there may be some other reason for him holding a futuristic barcode scanner, but if so we can't guess what it might be.
The second cover offers a clearer look at Tom Hardy as Bane. As the super-steroid Venom isn't being delivered into Bane's bloodstream in liquid form perhaps that curious mask is acting as some sort of inhaler? Or maybe it's just the most extreme orthodontic brace ever built?
The story within may well explain all that, but until Empire actually hits the newsstands there's nothing preventing us from indulging in a certain amount of wild speculation, is there?
