Friday Internet Runaround

It's Friday morning, if you're still recovering from last night (well, Thursday is the new Friday, after all you wouldn't want to spoil your weekend would you?), here's quick run around the comics internet.

Rob Kamphausen's board decides to launch a troll war on Bleeding Cool

A Newsarama piece on Tyrene Gibson's comic for Image, Mayhem, gets the attention of what appears to be a viral marketing team, though it may be a little obvious, with positive comments from many people who all seem to have signed in yesterday and made one post… such as;

"MAYHEM! omfg!  i cant wait for this comic book, man!  im gonna go right now to buymayhem.com and order like ten for me and my bros!"

and

"DUDE, IM SUCH A F***ING FAN OF TYRESE MAN!  I CANT BELIEVE HE'S COMIN OUT WITH A COMIC BOOK!!!  PRE ORDER PRE ORDER PRE ORDER NOW NOW NOW DAMNIT!  GETTIN LIKE 10 COPIES AND GETTIN ALL OF 'EM SIGNED MOTHAS!"

and

MAYHEM, MAYHEM, MAYHEM, MAYHEM is one of Tyreses best work to date. I LOVE THE WHOLE THE ENTIRE THE COMPLETE CONCEPT, FROM START TO INFINITY…

But it was the cover of their Wolverine: Old Man Logan Giant-Size #1 (as well as sounding a bit like a new alternative for Giant Size Man Thing that caused the real fuss on the board as it was seen as, well, a possible, rather tangential swipe file candidate for the infamous Goatse image. NSFW, folks. Google Image it yourself if you need to be scarred.

Something Mark Millar was about to do for the first time. He hasn't been heard from since…

Oh and a quick note of thanks to the new Vertigo blog, Graphic Content. Seemingly in response to yesterday's Swipe File of people's feet standing in pools of blood, with the blood reflecting the rest of their body, they chose to post the cover to new Vertigo title The Bronx Kill by Peter Milligan and James Romberger. And then got someone to send me an e-mail to that effect.

Thanks guys!
