DigiWatch: Jonathan Hickman talks digital comics. "We got to get our digital shit together. We haven't yet, we're very poor in that area, just because we're in the beginning. Nobody gets it right. Once we get that started, we won't have the distribution choke that we have right now in the direct market. Things will get more interesting. I don't see any way we don't expand in the next 10 years"

While Nick Spencer plans his own obsolescence, "The big things that are coming are purely digital and aren't confined to the traditional structure of printed comics. There's no reason why they need to look or feel that way. The big innovations in the next decade will be meaty in that, re-exploring the medium of sequential storytelling without page boundaries. That's the stuff I'm excited to see… I think you'll see a big power shift as this develops. [The comic book] industry for last 10 years [has been] heavily dominated by writers."

PrizeWatch: College cartoonist John Vestevish wins the Charles Schutz Award.

Skullkickers, Sixth Gun team up for cross-promotion

In the dog-eat-dog world of professional comic-bookery, it's always gratifying to see creators play nice. And in the case of Skullkickers' Jim Zubkavich and The Sixth Gun's Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt, it's more than just a common courtesy — they're helping drum up each others' sales by placing ads in each other's books.

Neil Gaiman's Journal: the view from the ice storm

I think that this year the people at DC Comics (and me) will talk to a lot of people who want to make a Sandman TV series, and if we find the perfect person with the perfect way of treating the material, it'll happen. And otherwise it won't.

'Fear Itself' for Marvel Comics' Big Three – USATODAY.com

"He's the thing under your bed or the monster in the closet," says Fraction, who adds that The Serpent's arrival is preceded by eight mystical hammers (much like Thor's Mjolnir) falling in different corners of the world. They call out to the "Worthy": eight heroes and villains who will turn the world into a war zone.

News On Arnold's Comic Book Property Coming Soon

However there are a couple of reasons that one could contend that his latest round of TL2 hype should not be dismissed. We know that Arnold has had at least 15 scripts presented to him. It is certainly possible that TL2 is among them. We also know that Tom has been Arnold's friend for many years and that he is one of only two people that managed to get Arnold to appear in a film while he was in office. So there may be a possibility that Arnold is seriously considering making TL2. For definitive word, we'll have to wait to hear from Arnold himself.
