Baz Luhrmann's adaptation of The Great Gatsby may have only started filming a couple of months ago, but today Warner have released two official stills for us.
Featuring Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan, Joel Edgerton and Leonardo DiCaprio dressed in their best, these pictures come courtesy of Sassisam Blog via Empire, and put to rest any doubts we may have had about the casting (I'm looking at you, Carey)
Adapted from F. Scott Fitzgerald's Great American Novel, the story is set in the roaring 20's and follows Maguire's Nick Carraway as he moves to Long Island and gets tangled up in the lives of Jay Gatsby, and Daisy and Tom Buchanan, played by DiCaprio, Mulligan and Edgerton respectively.
The film also features two of my favourite rising stars, Elizabeth Debecki and Callum McAuliffe.
Filming is still underway in Luhrmann's native Australia – a controversial decision, as New York is seen by many Fitzgerald fans seen as a key character of the story.
The US release is set for December 25th 2012 and everywhere else… one day.
