Not A Creature Was Stirring, Except A $750,000 Comic Art Thief?

New York Police are investigating the theft of some $750,000 of artwork, prints, and other valuables from the Manhattan apartment of art collector Robert Romanoff, and have just released details about some of the stolen art in hopes of getting help from the public. Among the items stolen were two pieces derived from comic book art: A limited print of Andy Warhol's Superman and Lichtenstein's Thinking Nude.

The Warhol is based on a Murphy Anderson image, while the Lichtenstein print seems to be a swipe of a comic panel by artist Jim Pike, who was a romance artist of the late 40s and early 50s for DC Comics and others.

According to police the thieves "tunneled into" the apartment from an adjacent hallway.
