In the light of the Amazon and Barnes & Noble "Glitch" clearouts of all sorts of comics books, the delight of some, the disappointment of many, and the eventual "$25? Really?" across the comics industry, in what is effectively an international comic book reader rebate, and the removal of the Buy button on 70% of comics onsale at Amazon, the 'notaglitch hashtag has been catching on at Twitter, encouraged by the likes of Gail Simone, for bricks'n'mortar comics retailer to promote their own sales.
Such as Comics Conspiracy, Sunnyvale California offering 25% off all Marvel trades and hardcovers today and tomorrow. Or Collector's Paradise, Winnetka California launching Buy Two Get One Free sales. And First Age Comics in Lancaster are doing 50% off full sets of comics.
But why stop there? Isn't there a way to make this kind of thing a bit more permanent? Which is why Bleeding Cool is trialling Comics Local from today, a sidebar that will run down the site of the site showing comics book retailers' special deals, signings and events for free.
Interested folk should start posting here and the sidebar should launch a few hours later.
