Numbercrunching DC August 2011 Solicitations

Numbercrunching DC's August 2011 solicitations, looking at all original DCU-related titles is a little easier. At DC, we have a better idea of page numbers. Not an exact idea but a better idea. Until DC actually post story page numbers in their solicitations, we won't know for sure, but they seem to be closer to an actual plan, month on month.

In August, the price per page is hit by the number of $4.99 Retro Books with plenty of pages, but I only count the new material, not the backup reprints… removing those gets you 14 cents a page instead.

As to whether a price change will accompany the September renumbering and relaunching of all DCU titles that I've been predicting, I have no idea. Yet.

August 2011:  75 books – 57 titles at $2.99 (20 pages of story), 5 titles at $3.99 (30 pages of story), 12 at $4.99 (22 pages of new story) and 1 at $5.99 (72 pages of story).

Complete cost: $256.25 for 1646 pages of story content (15.6 cents a page)

December 2010: 56 books – 33 titles at $2.99 (22 pages of story), 12 titles at $3.99 (30 pages of story) 8 titles at $3.99 (22 pages of story) 2 titles at $3.99 (44 pages of story), 1 title at $5.99 (80 pages of story)

Complete cost: $192.44 for 1430 pages of story (13.5 cents a page)

January 2011: 56 books – 52 titles at 2.99 (20 pages of story), 4 titles at 3.99 (30 pages of story)

Complete cost: $171.44 for 1160 pages of story content. (14.8 cents a page)

February 2011: 62 books – 58 titles at 2.99 (20 pages of story), 3 titles at 3.99 (30 pages of story), 1 title at $5.99 (70 pages of story)

Complete cost: $191.38 for 1320 pages of story content. (14.5 cents a page)

March 2011: 56 books – 51 titles at $2.99 (20 pages of story), 3 titles at $3.99 (30 pages of story), 2 titles at $4.99 (40 pages of story)

Complete cost: $174.44 for 1190 pages of story content. (14.65 cents a page)

April 2011: 58 books – 47 titles at $2.99 (20 pages of story), 4 titles at $3.99 (30 pages of story), 2 titles at $4.99 (36 pages of story), 2 titles at $4.99 (44 pages of story), 1 title at $5.99 (84 pages of story), 1 title at $5.99 (68 pages of story)

Complete cost: $190.43 for 1372 pages of story content (13.9 cents a page)

May 2011: 58 books – 56 titles at $2.99 (20 pages of story),2 titles at $3.99 (30 pages of story),

Complete cost: $175.42 for 1180 pages of story content (14.9 cents a page)

June 2011:  67 books – 64 titles at $2.99 (20 pages of story),2 titles at $3.99 (30 pages of story), 1 at $5.99 (70 pages of story)

Complete cost: $205.33 for 1410 pages of story content (14.6 cents a page)

July 2011:  69 books – 59 titles at $2.99 (20 pages of story),2 titles at $3.99 (30 pages of story), 7 at $4.99 (46 pages of story) and 1 at $24.99 (144 pages of story).

Complete cost: $244.31 for 1706 pages of story content (14.3 cents a page)
