One Publisher, Two Shows, One Weekend, Two Countries – What Is Avatar Going To Do?
It's like some wacky zany comedy. Avatar Press has discovered that it is booked to appear at two conventions on the same weekend, hundreds of miles from each other, and across national borders.
Picture William Christensen slapping his cheeks like Macaulay Culkin.
Yes, just like that.
So, Avatar will be at Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo this weekend, with William Christensen and Lady Death creator Brian Pulido.
And there are special VIP ticket set things. With a $250 Calgary VIP Set getting you $900 of ultra-rare Lady Death stuff, a 3-day pass to the show with early access to the show floor, a special signing with Brian Pulido with a stack of Lady Death back issues including four of the rare Leather covers and eight of the uber-rare Royal Blue Editions (100 print, $75.00 each) and an exclusive to the show Lady Death #5 Calgary VIP Edition. Fifty sets available. Booth 616.
While over at Wizard World Comic Con Philadelphia, Mike Wolfer will be running the show at Booth 601. With four VIP sets;
Avatar With Ticket, $150 for a $500 of ultra-rare Avatar comics, with a special signing with Mike Wolfer. Five premium Freakangels Art Prints, five Night of the Living Dead Art Prints, two statues, ten volume of Mike Wolfer graphic novels, with a Philadelphia VIP Crossed: Psychopath #2, and the same for $115 without the show entrance ticket. Fifty sets of each.
And Lady Death With Ticket, Just $150 for a $500 Value of Lady Death comics, and that oh-so special signing with Mike Wolfer. 5 premium Lady Death Art Prints, 4 of the rare Leather covers, 4 of the uber-rare Royal Blue Editions, a Lady Death #1 Thorns and a copy of the Lady Death Origins Vol 1 TPB, and the same for $115 without the show entrance ticket. Again, fifty of each.
Or, you know, you can just come in as normal and pop by the booths, buy a comic, and say hi. Your call.
Splitting the Avatar crew across two shows will have its advantages for the stalker as well. At Calgary, William will basically be running the booth all the time, so if you want to pitch him your mini-series "Chicken Fucker", then he literally won't be able to escape from you.
And as for your theories about Mike Wolfer's comics, and how they are all part of one massive continuity? Again, in Philadelphia, he's going nowhere and will be forced to listen to you espouse them at length. You've got him trapped.
Have fun!
