Warner Bros Sets Two Mysterious DCEU Release Dates For 2020

We have some more DCEU release dates on the way for Warner Bros. The Wrap is reporting that Warner Bros has moved a few movies around and there is one thing about it that is very odd.

GAME NIGHT moves from 02/14/18 to 03/02/18
An UNTITLED WB ANIMATION FILM will be released on 06/01/18
An UNTITLED WB EVENT FILM will be released on 12/13/19
An UNTITLED DC FILM will be released on 02/14/20
An UNTITLED DC FILM will be released on 06/05/20

There are already two other DC movies scheduled for 2020 — Green Lantern Corps on June 24, 2020 and Cyborg on April 3, 2020. That would put four DC movies in one year, and that seems like it's pushing it. There is already a huge problem of studios like Disney essentially cannibalizing their own movies. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 pretty much ate Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, and next year there is only a three week break between Avengers: Infinity War and the Untitled Han Solo movie. If DC decides to release four movies in one year then there isn't going to be enough time for any of them to do well at the box office. They'll be competing against themselves and nothing good is going to come from that.

DCEU Release Dates for 2020 announced by Warner Bros

If DC has any sense at all, one of those movies is going to be a sequel to Wonder Woman because that is the only golden goose that the DCEU has right now. As for the second 'unknown' movie, it could be The Batman, Gotham City Sirens, or The Flash. The Flash is probably more likely because it has been in rewrites longer than The Batman has, but they are also looking for a director again. The Batman has a director, but Matt Reeves has just started on the movie and they aren't using Ben Affeck's script. Gotham City Sirens has a director and part of a cast sp that is another possibility. We also have Joss Whedon's Batgirl and Chris McKay's Nightwing but to release solo movies about members of the bat family before a solo Batman movie is odd but it wouldn't be the weirdest choice. Suicide Squad 2 also just got their director as well.

Warner Bros has a big presentation coming up on Saturday in Hall H, so maybe they will comment on these DCEU release dates then. For now, we have a lot of DC movies without solid release dates and even more waiting in the wings. This is going to be an interesting presentation in Hall H on Saturday.
