Warren Ellis Surrounded By Cosplay – The Weekend At MCM London Expo
So I took the kids to Comic Con. They loved having photos taken "with princesses", they drew on the Artist tables and they charmed convention organisers into giving them Japanese sweets. My girls.
Other highlights;
Seeing Warren Ellis in the pub as men dressed as Alien xenomorphs walked by, and watching as he didn't even flinch anymore.
People realising that, despite hardly any publicity, Frank Quitely was there and doing exquisitely detailed sketches for free.
The witch carrying the "free hags" sign.
Kieron Gillen realising that, by writing Uncanny X-men, he'd "won".
Gary Erskine drawing "Hello Kitty" sketches.
The visceral thrill at seeing the Thrill Electric teaser and my mind opening into possibilities I could steal for my own stuff.
Oh and so much Green Lantern cosplay it threatened to crowd out the Japanese schoolgirl look. But not quite.
Here's another quick look at the show to follow Friday's. As you can see, a few more people turned up.
