The DC New 52 Second Wave Looks Like It May Be Underordered
This is the latest weekly list of comics getting high advance reorders and post-sale reorders, continues to show what comics are heating up on the front line of comics retail.
Avengers Vs X-Men continues to do well, as Marvel releases new information about how retailers can get new variant covers by ordering more, while the Night Of The Owls also does well for Batman books. Earth 2 is the surprise, it's one of the DC Second Wave of New 52, which may not have had the retailer support that the other New 52 titles have had. But retailers seem to be realising that, actually, this will sell gangbusters, bumping up the first issue of World's Finest as well. Dial H and GI Combat are also getting some attention. There's no sign of The Ravagers but Teen Titans Annual which will launch them, is getting plenty of Advance Reorders. Maybe that's one for next week? I'd expect a second print of Earth 2 very shortly though. Hit Girl is making the list by being accidentally missed off the Diamond order form, but the Kick Ass 2 HC is making an appearance as well in readiness. And Epic Kill #1 looks like the next big Image launch that will sell out well before it goes on sale.
For the post-shipping reorders, Walking Dead continues to clean up. With certain volumes now going out of print, there's a real rush to get these into stores. Expect string placement for this year's Diamond GEM Awards.
