Supergirl's Space Opera Ends in July, With Big Changes Teased for Kara in Supergirl #32

When "The Great One" Brian Bendis came to DC Comics and took over the Superman books, beginning with the Man of Steel mini-series that introduced an unstoppable monster named Rogol Zaar who claimed to be responsible for the destruction of Krypton, we all knew Bendis's story would be too big to be contained within a single ongoing series, or even two. At current count, we've got Event Leviathan coming up to add to Action Comics and Superman, along with spinoffs for Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen. Even that is nothing compared to the 27 concurrent ongoing Avengers books at Marvel when "The Great One" was running the show. But the very first companion story for Bendis's Superman came with the revival of Supergirl, by Marc Andreyko and Kevin Maguire, sending Kara on a journey into space to discover the truth about Rogol Zaar and who was really responsible for Krypton's destruction.

On her journey, Supergirl discovered the actions of The Circle, and the true villain behind Rogol Zaar, with lots of revelations just last week. And now, Supergirl's journey enters its final act, and will be concluded, it seems, July's Supergirl #32. But in trademark comic book ending style, this ending is teased to cause big changes to Supergirl, asking: "If she survives it all, who will be the Supergirl who emerges on the other side? Join us on the epic finale to Supergirl's space-opera adventure!"

Oh, and will we be getting some Braniac retcons as well? Check out the solicit for Supergirl #32 below.

The conclusion to the SUPERMAN/SUPERGIRL team-up is here! As the House of El is united, Superman, Supergirl, Superboy and Jor-El struggle to defeat the seemingly unstoppable Rogol Zaar, who is now teamed up with General Zod, Jax-Ur and even Gandelo! New alliances are forged and betrayed, and Kara must fight battles on two fronts: alongside her cousins and inside herself, as she faces her own rage and the corrupting influence of Zaar's axe! If she survives it all, who will be the Supergirl who emerges on the other side? Join us on the epic finale to Supergirl's space-opera adventure!
Also, if Brainiac is in the Hall of Doom, why is Lex Luthor upgrading an old Brainiac drone body? And why is the drone calling itself the true Brainiac?

A prophecy once said that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero would come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events. Sadly, that prophecy was wrong. Oh, Jude Terror was right. For ten years. About everything. But nobody listened.
