The Enemy of Decompression is My Friend in Fantastic Four: Grand Design #1 [Preview]

Following the success of Ed Piskor's X-Men: Grand Design, Tom Scioli is looking to give the same treatment to the story of the Fantastic Four as Fantastic Four: Grand Design #1 hits stores this week from Marvel Comics. And in the four-page preview below, we get to see just how powerful this format of recapping convoluted Marvel continuity can be, as in just a few pages we are given information that took dozens of comics to reveal.

Of course, there are some differences between Fantastic Four and X-Men, and the Fantastic Four: Grand Design series seems like one that will cover the Marvel Universe's history as a whole, since the Fantastic Four are more closely tied to it. And though the story of Fantastic Four has been called the Great American Novel, this series will consist of just two issues.

Check out the preview below, and pick up Fantastic Four: Grand Design #1 on Wednesday.
