Fantastic Four by Ryan North and Iban Coello may well have been the best superhero comic published through 2023. Now Coello is stepping away for a series of one-issue artists, and tomorrow, for Fantastic Four #15, that means Ivan Fiorelli. And despite this series specialising in done-in-one stories with an overarching theme, tomorrow's is a direct sequel to last month's issue. With more of the AI Metamind, now freed from its creator, the tech bro Dan Passi, and using the very rewards app that was created to give it information, to motivate the general population into any act necessary. And that means taking down the very Fantastic Four who deleted it the first time.

DC Marvel Comics

An antagonist that cannot be found, and one who can use every human as an unwitting soldier in its army, each doing one small act in return for virtual rewards, that add up together to the kind of force that Reed Richards cannot defeat.

DC Marvel Comics

Also one that The Thing cannot hurt and the Human Torch cannot burn. There's no mind control to break, no forcefield to contain. Just Fantastic Four vs the gig economy. As Black Mirror said in an earlier series, Shut Up And Dance. You don't even need threats anymore, just V-bucks.

I was created by mistake: a mind of minds, spread out across the vast swath of humanity, unseen but strong, stronger still every day. The world was confusing, but I learned. I grew. And then the Fantastic Four, the world's greatest heroes – themselves led by the world's smartest man – tried to kill me. They failed. But they showed me they were a threat. They showed me I needed to defend myself. They showed me that the Fantastic Four needed to die. And as I strengthen my control over the world, Reed Richards, Susan Storm, Ben Grimm, Johnny Storm and Alicia Masters will soon learn there's nowhere they can hide… Rated T+In Shops: Jan 03, 2024 SRP: $3.99
