Twitter Suspends Political Cartoonist Matt Bors for Antifa Super Soldier Serum Joke
Twitter has suspended the account of high-profile political cartoonist Matt Bors, apparently in response to a Tweet earlier this week joking:
Reminder for tomorrow: PLEASE don't take your antifa super soldier serum until ten minutes before polls open. You will NOT be at full strength to lop off the heads of whites if you dose early. We want beautiful clean separations, people.
Twitter has been criticized heavily for an unwillingness to take meaningful steps to prevent the use of the platform for harassment or the spread of hate speech — former KKK leader David Duke, for example, still maintains an active Twitter account — so the decision to ban Bors for a joke is obviously not going over very well, with some of Bors' cartoonist and journalist colleagues tweeting in response.
Amongst other places, Bors' work can be found regularly on The Nib, where he is Editor-in-Chief, with his lastest comic published on November 6th. Could we expect a certain theme to the cartoons published on the Nib tomorrow morning?
