Jason Aaron and Rafa Sandoval continue their Absolute Superman, including the tale of what just happened with Krypton. After all there are lots of conspiracies out there. How could a planet just explode or implode anyway? Was it rigged by explosives? You know, planetary cores don't just collapse like that, right? You should do your own research…
Well, firstly, in today's Absolute Superman #5, the refugees from Krypton get bonded to the big ship. So when what happens happens…
They all get their own individual small boats.
And that is who Sol is, the artificial intelligence engineered by the House Of El, and here to protect Kal-El, in whatever way his family seem to have decided and he can persuade Sol to join in with.
Except, as we have discovered, as is necessary for the Superman story however it has been twisted and turned, alone. And as for how Krypton did the big collapse even with all the Kryptonite mining that so doomed the planet?
Weevils. Super-weevils. And when the Kryptonian mining gets too much, then the whole thing collapses like a pack of cards.
Or some other monument or building, similarly affected. Or, indeed, an entire ecosystem. But even though only Kal-El made it to Earth, it does mean there could be plenty more normal Kryptonians out there, rather than just escapees of the Phantom Zone. But them too, sure. And as Sol tells Absolute Superman, there may well be others on Earth, just in a reduced form…
