D&D Will Publish A Hardcover Campaign Taking Players to Eberron
There was one last surprise during D&D Live 2019 on the very last day as we found out Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron will be getting a slight expansion. Dungeons & Dragons' Senior Director Nathan Stewart made an announcement at the end of the last day letting people know that Eberron would be getting an official hardcover campaign and would be released near the end of 2019. If you're not entirely familiar with Eberron, it's basically a D&D fever-dream where steampunk noir comes into play. Up until now, Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron was only a digital release that players could access to make their own campaigns in the same style and use that world as a stage for people to live out their own creations with this added material.
If that sounds a little familiar, it should, as Dungeons & Dragons did the exact same thing to Magic: The Gathering by creating Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica. Effectively creating a how-to book for players who wished to visit Ravnica and incorporate MTG creatures and settings into their own campaigns. Eberron was created by Keith Baker clear back in 2002 and was incorporated into the 3.5 edition of the game, making it one of the most popular settings at that time. If this is the way the company is going to start doing bonus content releases from now on, might we suggest they bring us a new Spelljammer guide in 2020?
