Final Fantasy XV's Noctis is Coming to Tekken 7 Next Week
It's been confirmed that Final Fantasy XV's Noctis is set to arrive in Tekken 7 in just under a week.
Tekken 7 really did land with a splash last year. While a Tekken game is always bound to hit with a fair bit of fanfare (what with it being one of the biggest fighting game franchises of all time), Tekken 7 still seemed to surprise people. The mechanics, flow, and flourishes really helped the title standout, especially in the wake of several high profile genre disappointments in Street Fighter V and Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite.
Well, the game's roster is about to expand, which should throw a nice spanner in the works for players who have begun to master other fighters. As already announced, Final Fantasy XV's Noctis is joining the fight, but now we have a concrete date. Bandai Namco has confirmed that the guest character will be landing March 20th across all platforms. The announcement was made in a livestream being held by the development team, and it seems Noctis will use several weapons as well as various magics in his moveset to really mess with his opponents. It should bring a nice new style to the roster.
Noctis is the third guest character added to the game, which already sees Street Fighter's Akuma and SNK's Geese Howard brought into the fold. It's always fun to see how developers of a fighting game interpret the style of guest characters and still find the balance amongst their own fighters. It's a hard line to walk, so let's hope the dev team have been able to make Noctis feel like Noctis, while keeping him in check in terms of power.
