Nintendo Comments on the Piranha Plant Bug in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Last week we talked about how people were experiencing a memory issue when they downloaded the Piranha Plant in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. According to several players online, the new character was causing a data corruption that might undo some of the progress you made in the game, specifically in unlocking characters in All-Star mode. We reached out to Nintendo last week for a comment on the situation, and today, we got a response from the company on the issue.

"We are aware that some users are posting about possible issues with the latest Super Smash Bros. Ultimate update. After extensive testing, Nintendo has not been able to confirm that there is an issue, although we will continue to investigate and monitor the situation."

So at the moment, the company can't find any issues. If they do indeed find one, we're guessing it will come with the next patch. For now, best we can tell those of you experiencing it is to have fun trying to unlock everyone again.
