Nintendo Releases Jump Rope Challenge As A Free Switch Title
Nintendo is looking to get their players more active at home by releasing a free game call Jump Rope Challenge that you can get today. For those of us who are stuck at home still practicing self-quarantine and not rushing out into the world to create another major outbreak, there's not a lot of ways to stay active at home. Which is a challenge the developers at Nintendo in Japan ran into themselves. So what did they do? They got creative and made a simple game to add some quick and fun movement into their daily lives. But rather than keep it to themselves, they're sharing it with all of the players who own a Nintendo Switch. From now until the end of September, you can download this game for free from the eShop and start doing some daily exercises on your own that doesn't require special equipment. Here's some details on the game.
By using a pair of Joy-Con controllers and imagining them as the handles of a jump rope, players can virtually jump rope every day. It's all the fun of jumping, but there's not a rope in sight! Two household members can jump in and play together to try to reach a high score, with each person holding one Joy-Con. With hopping bunnies as the characters, simple menus and no tutorials to jump through, it's quick and easy to learn the ropes and get started. For those who aren't able to jump, or are worried about disturbing the downstairs neighbors, players can bend their knees or move their arms to play the game without creating any noise.
It's a pretty cool concept for Nintendo to give away a free game to get their players active to stay healthy and happy. It's kind of a no-brainer, especially if you're looking to exercise while things are still a concern to your health in the world right now.
