Nintendo's Miiverse Has Officially Shut Down For Good
Nintendo fans were expecting this for a while, but it still came as a shock to Wii U and 3DS fans to see that the Miiverse has come to an end this week. The move is yet another step in Nintendo's long plan to shut down all of the old systems it no longer will be using now that the Nintendo Switch is the new hotness and they slowly move resources over to help make it bigger and better down the road.
The only game that probably annoyed fans the most is Super Mario Maker, as it was one of the few titles where the community interaction was off the charts and created several sub-communities within the Miiverse. Now with it gone, not only are those communities slowly fading, but comments are no longer a thing for new levels. Not everything about the service was great, in fact, there are a lot of people that viewed it as useless since it was more of a cosmetic feature than anything. But in the long haul, it served as a great way to get Nintendo members to interact and share within their communities. It'll be interesting to see what Nintendo intends to do with the Switch moving forward since you still use Mii characters for games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
