Nioh 2 will be Hosting a Closed Alpha Test on PS4
Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo will be hosting a closed alpha test for Nioh 2 on PlayStation 4. The closed alpha will run from May 24th to June 2nd.
Team Ninja announced the closed alpha on Twitter, saying that the closed alpha is being run to "help gather feedback fro the development." The closed alpha appears to be limited to a small pool of players to "ensure the team can manage the feedback."
There are no plans to expand the alpha, but there may be more information on closed and open beta playtests before the game's release. After all, that's how things worked for the original Nioh. Koei Tecmo offered alpha and beta test demos of the game and then incorporated player feedback from both test phases into the final version of the game. It seems likely that they'll do the same for Nioh 2.
Nioh 2 was announced at E3 2018 with a brief teaser, which was followed by a new trailer this week which shows off some of the gameplay including the promised character customization system.
You can check out the Closed Alpha trailer below. Nioh 2 does not have a release date at this time.
