Fans of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door has some hope to see the game earlier this year than later, as it popped up on the ESRB's website. Some keen-eyed players caught the listing over the weekend, pointing out that it has already earned an E-rating. This probably wasn't too hard to get, considering the original GameCube title had an E-rating clear back in 2004. Ahead of this, many assumed that when we saw a 12024 release date attached to it, we'd probably see it come out on the game's official two-decade anniversary, which would be July 22.
But with an ESRB rating showing up this early, based on how the organization usually works, it could signal the game will get a release as early as March. None of that has been confirmed by Nintendo; in fact, the earliest we'll probably see news of it would be in early February, which is when the next Nintendo Direct that focuses on the company's first-part titles usually happens. We'll see what happens in the next few months.

ESRB Rating Summary
This is an adventure role-playing game in which players help Mario rescue Princess Peach from an alien group. As players traverse whimsical worlds, they interact with characters and engage in turn-/puzzle-based combat against paper creatures. Players use various attacks (e.g., boot stomp, hammer strike, fire balls) against cartoony enemies that disappear into stars and coins. A handful of characters engage in brief flirtatious dialogue (e.g., "Aren't you a fine specimen of a man"; "Perhaps if I…grabbed you and gave you a little sugar"), and/or are designed with large chests/exaggerated proportions.
