Stumphead Games Bring Super Crome: Bullet Purgatory to PAX East 2019

An awesome little space shooter we got to experience at PAX East this year was Super Crome: Bullet Purgatory from Stumphead Games. This game gives you all the glory of old arcade shooters you could imagine, all the way down to the pixel art, but with all of the insane action of today's games. There's not a ton to know about this one as it plays out much as you would suspect with you in a tiny ship against the universe as different kinds of enemies come at you with various weapons that have their own patterns and tracking on you, leaving you as the brave space pilot to take them out one-by-one and make the galaxy safe again.

But space is a big place and there are over 20 different bosses you can go up against instead of just the same five with different shading and styles. You also have to deal with the terrain in space like asteroids or debris or garbage floating about, as well as enemies that seemingly learn from your previous conquests and now have some extra tricks up their sleeves. That's really all there is to it, the game is pretty simple but awesome to play! Super Crome: Bullet Purgatory is currently in Early Access on Steam if you want to jump into it right now, but there's no "official" release date planned for the game yet or word if it will come to consoles.
