Azeroth Armory – Bringing Ashbringer To Life
We are now just 3 days away from the release of World of Warcraft: Legion, the newest expansion from Blizzard Entertainment for their highly successful MMORPG. To go with the release, Blizzard got Hollywood weapon maker and blacksmith Tony Swatton to craft some real-life versions of the legendary weapons from the game. He's recently made Doomhammer and a Warglaive, but now we get to see him make one of the games most celebrated swords, Ashbringer.
In the lore, Ashbringer was originally crafted for the Paladin Alexandros Morgraine and named for they way it would slay the Undead, leaving nothing but ash behind. Morgraine was betrayed by his oldest son Renault and murdered but Alexandros was returned to life as a Death Knight and Ashbringer was corrupted until it ended up in the hands of Tirion Fordring. Ashbringer was used to destroy the Lich King's rune sword Frostmourne.
As part of the new pre-expansion quests that have been going on in game for the last couple weeks, we see the fate of Tirion Fordring and Ashbringer is the new legendary weapon that Retribution Paladins get in the game.
With all these weapons they are crafting, I think we're going to see an awesome looking legendary weapon display at this years Blizzcon.
