Wanna Play A Nintendo Switch In The Middle Of Nowhere? Sure You Do!

In what seems to be both a cool and counter-productive move for promotion, Nintendo will be giving you the opportunity to play the Nintendo Switch totally free without a ton of restrictions on February 23, 27, and March 3. However, there's a slight catch. All three locations are in a small box in the middle of nowhere.

California, New York, and Colorado are the three states you'll be able to locate these small playrooms in. Nintendo wants to give ordinary people a shot at playing the games for a moment before the system officially launches on March 3. Sadly, the California one will probably be a watch-from-afar kind of setup as the event is Invite Only for specific people who will be playing 1-2 Switch games with WWE superstar John Cena at the Blue Cloud Movie Ranch. So… not exactly open to the public in Cali. Here's some brief excerpts of what Nintendo had this to say about it in their press release that went out this morning.

To showcase this unprecedented new style of console gaming on the go, Nintendo is showcasing the versatility of Nintendo Switch across the country with highly visual, interactive living room-inspired spaces in places you would never expect, bringing surprises to every stop. The first Nintendo Switch experience will pop up in the desert at Blue Cloud Movie Ranch on Feb. 23. Invited guests will get the chance to enter the interactive space and experience different Nintendo Switch games, as well as delight in the novelty of playing these games in a completely unexpected locale.

…John Cena will showcase the face-to-face off-TV functionality of 1-2-Switch, a Nintendo Switch launch game that features hilarious activities like milking a cow and participating in a Wild West duel. Cena will play the game with invited fans and YouTube influencers, highlighting how fun it is to play 1-2-Switch using the innovative new Joy-Con controllers.

In Colorado, the Switch will be set up at the Snowmass Ski Resort, and in New York it will be located at Flatiron Plaza in Madison Square Park. Both of those locations will be open to the public, but it doesn't appear that any other game beyond 1-2 Switch will be available. So most likely Nintendo are looking to give fans a taste of the party game in droves for as long as they can. If you're up for the drive, here are the three locations' addresses.
