WSOE To Hold Online Hearthstone Montreal Masters Qualifier
The WSOE (World Showdown of Esports) revealed today that they will be holding the WSOE Online I: Hearthstone – Montreal Masters Qualifier. With all of the tournaments being forced into online play, a lot of organizations have had to lay the new groundwork as to how it is all going to play out. The WSOE, who has done a mix of online and in-person events over the years, will be doing a lot more online with COVID-19 still being a health concern. This qualifier will replace some of the original leadups that were going to happen before everything was postponed or canceled, but will still be a part of the Montreal Masters that Blizzard and Dreamhack were going to hold this year. You can get the full details of what's happening below along with how you can take part in the tournament.
The June 27 broadcast will be hosted by Jon "Falloutt" Kefaloukos alongside commentators Dan "Frodan" Chou and Nathan "Admirable" Zamora. The stream will also include two showmatches between notable Hearthstone pros, including Jon "Orange" Westberg competing against Chris "Feno" Tsako and Darroch "Darroch" Brown taking on current WSOE: Hearthstone Champion Jacinta "Jia" Dee. Interested competitors can register to participate in the open qualifiers beginning June 8 at Battlefly.com. Registration closes on June 20 at 10 a.m. PT. To compete, participants must be at least 13 years old and have an account and cards on the "Americas" server. All games will run in conquest mode and include single elimination, best of three matches. The event will be the first of two Hearthstone tournaments in Estars Studios' new 2020 WSOE Online series, allowing players, talent and production teams to entertain through high-quality esports and gaming events from the comfort and safety of their homes.
