Avengers: Endgame Will Be the Second Movie Filmed Entirely with IMAX Cameras

EDIT: Fixed the title. Sorry about that you guys but in my defense, the press release had it two different ways too.

We finally got the poster, title, and trailer for the fourth Avengers movie and it's called Avengers: Endgame. It's going to be one of the biggest movies of the entire year and not in terms of box office or impact. It's going to be huge in the literal sense. In a press release sent out by IMAX today, they exclusively revealed that Avengers: End Game is the second movie to be filmed entirely with IMAX cameras with Avengers: Infinity War being the first.

Come May, on the biggest screen, with the clearest images and heart-pounding audio, audiences that experience AVENGERS ENDGAME will also exclusively see up to 26% more picture, only in IMAX, vs standard theatres. The Russo Brothers shot the film with IMAX cameras and with IMAX aspect ratio so the pristine images will fill the entire screen – from the moment the film starts until the last credit leaves the screen. Experiencing this movie in any other format will mean that audiences are missing 26% of the action!

The camera is one the Russo brothers have used before since it's the same camera they used to film the airport fight in Captain America: Civil War and the entirety of Avengers: Infinity War.

irectors Joe and Anthony Russo utilized the ALEXA IMAX 65mm camera to film AVENGERS ENDGAME. It is a next-generation revolutionary 2D digital camera developed through a partnership between ARRI and IMAX for use by today's leading filmmakers working in the IMAX® format. The camera, when combined with IMAX's digital re-mastering process, delivers the highest level of digital image capture and playback resulting in stunning lifelike images with pristine clarity, incredibly fine detail, vivid colors and a higher dynamic range for superior contrast.

Sounds like IMAX is the place to be when you see Avengers: Endgame this coming April.

Summary: A culmination of 22 interconnected films, the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.
