Cast, Audience Safely Evacuated From Old Vic Theater During John Boyega-Starring Play 'Woyzeck'

The Old Vic Theater in London has been evacuated due to what is being described as a 'security alert'. According to audience members present, the evacuation was efficient and orderly, with no injuries reported.  There are photos and reports on social media with numerous attendees and cast safe at a nearby park. Police have cordoned off the immediate vicinity and appear to be conducting a search of the area.

John Boyega of Star Wars fame is starring in a production of the play 'Woyzeck' at the theater. The play is set in 1980s Cold War-era Berlin, with a young soldier played by Boyega trying to build a better life for his family., According to audience reports, the performance was halted about ten minutes after starting, with police and Old Vic staff directing an orderly evacuation. The Daily Mail reports that the audience numbered around 1000 people. London Police have not released details of what triggered the alert at this time.
