Corey Stoll, Brian D'Arcy James Join Spielberg's 'West Side Story'
Sounds like most of the cast has been assembled for Steven Spielberg's next big picture- a new feature film adaptation of movie musical classic West Side Story.
Just yesterday, it was revealed that Corey Stoll (Midnight In Paris, The Strain) will be playing Lieutenant Schrank, the New York City detective charged with quelling civic unrest in his racially-torn precinct.
He'll be joined by Tony nominee Brian dʼArcy James (Something Rotten, Hamilton, Smash) in the iconic role of Sergeant Krupke, the cop whose beat includes the territories of the Sharks and the Jets.
Some of the previously announced cast includes Ansel Elgort (Tony), Rachel Zegler (Maria), Ariana DeBose (Anita), David Alvarez (Bernardo), Josh Andrés Rivera (Chino), and original film's co-star Rita Moreno (as Valentina), who will also be serving as an EP on this film.
Production is set to start on the film sometime this summer, no expected release date is known yet. We'll keep you updated.
