Benedict Cumberbatch On What To Expect In Avengers: Infinity War
It must be hard trying to promote a movie when you don't even know that much about it. Avengers: Infinity War sits in an odd place where there are so many people in it, but it seems like no one really knows anything of substance. That was on purpose, but it does make the marketing and interviews a little generic. That being said, Benedict Cumberbatch spoke to Digital Spy and talked a little bit about the movie:
"It's ten years coming. It's just a huge, huge, huge amount of work, huge amount of storylines and it's all sort of pointing to this confrontation….It's amazing to be part of it even though I'm late to the party, it's very cool to be part of it."
A "huge amount of work" is probably an understatement, but it is kind of mind-blowing that we're going to see 10 years worth of lead-up on screen. There really hasn't been a series like this before, and much like the first Avengers movie, this is going to change the superhero landscape. One could argue that this is seeing if Marvel can stick the landing once and for all. Time will indeed tell.
Avengers: Infinity War, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, stars Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Bettany, Chadwick Boseman, Benedict Wong, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Scarlett Johansson, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Bradley Cooper, Sean Gunn, and Anthony Mackie. It will be released on May 4th, 2018.
