Danny DeVito Joins the Cast of the Untitled Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle Sequel
The cast of the Untitled Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle Sequel sequel continues to grow. Yesterday, we got word that Awkwafina, the breakout star of Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians, was rumored to join the cast but today we got a new confirmation. According to Variety Danny DeVito is joining returning cast members Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Jack Black, and Kevin Hart. Director Jack Kasdan is also returning to direct the sequel to the surprise hit movie. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle brought in over $900 million at the worldwide box office so it isn't that surprising that we are getting a sequel and that they are attracting some big names.
"The magic of 'Jumanji' is who becomes who. And the idea of Danny DeVito joining our cast was too irresistible and something we knew we wanted to deliver to our audience this upcoming Christmas. Dwanta Claus loves everyone," Johnson said.
The role that DeVito will play is being kept under wraps along with any plot details at this current time. We can expect some more information to start to come out sometime this spring.
Untitled Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle Sequel, directed by Jake Kasdan, stars Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Danny DeVito, Darin Ferraro, and Sal Longobardo. It will be released on December 13th, 2019.
