Just one day after the death of her daughter, Carrie Fisher, Hollywood legend Debbie Reynolds has died, according to several sources including TMZ and Variety editor Stuart Oldham.

With a career spanning eight decades, Reynolds starred in dozens of movies, including Singin' in the Rain, How The West Was Won, The Unsinkable Molly Brown, and countless other classics. She also acted on stage and on television, and had two Billboard Top 25 hits. She was also famously a collector of Hollywood memorabilia

"Thank you to everyone who has embraced the gifts and talents of my beloved and amazing daughter," Reynolds told fans on Facebook following her daughter's death on December 27. "I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers that are now guiding her to her next stop. Love Carries Mother."

Reynolds was rushed to the hospital this afternoon after a 911 call from her son's home reporting a possible stroke.

The relationship between Reynolds and Fisher was the subject of Fisher's 1987 semi-autobiographical novel Postcards from the Edge, which was adapted by Fisher into the 1990 film of the same name starring Meryl Streep, Shirley MacLaine, and Dennis Quaid. Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, a documentary that debuted at the Cannes Film Festival about Fisher and Reynolds, is set to air on HBO in March.
