The Discovery Of The Afterlife Won't Stop Love
I usually do my write up before showing a trailer… but I'm going to do this differently this time. Because I want you to have the same, "What the…" feeling I had when watching Netflix's new teaser for The Discovery starring Rooney Mara, Robert Redford and Jason Segel.
Okay… now you might be wondering what the heck that was about.
The short version: A love story set one year after the existence of the afterlife is scientifically verified.
The film, selected to show at Sundance Film Festival, comes from director Charlie McDowell who co-wrote the script with Justin Lader. It's set one year after the scientific discovery that the afterlife is real and millions of people have committed suicide to get there. But it focuses on Isla (Mara) and Will (Segel), two people with tragic pasts who find each other and fall in love. All of the while finding out the true nature of the afterlife.
The Discovery debuts on Netflix March 31st.
