Edward Norton Thinks No Marvel Movie is as Good as Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy
You either die a hero, or you live long enough to become that guy who complains about popular superhero movies. Edward Norton, star of Marvel's 2008 film The Incredible Hulk, is not dead (to the best of our knowledge), which means there's really only one conclusion we can draw following his most recent comments.
"I did a big action movie called The Incredible Hulk," Norton recently said of his time working within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. "You know what went wrong? I wanted a better script."
In the life cycle of a clickbait news story, it's neither the beginning nor the ending which is important, but rather the journey itself. For example, were Norton's comments made in a serious setting, meant to be taken without any sarcasm or irony, or were they made at a Comedy Central Roast for Bruce Willis? At this point, who even knows? And does it really matter? The important thing is that he said controversial things, and we put it in a headline, and now you've clicked on it and are reading about it.
"I thought we should try to make one Marvel movie that was as good as the worst Chris Nolan movie, but what the hell was I thinking," presumably referring to The Dark Knight Rises, which was objectively the worst of the superhero movies made by Christopher Nolan, or "Chris" Nolan as his friends and fellow Hollywood elites like Eddie Norton call him.
Strong words. Said in jest? Perhaps. But with a little bit of truth behind them as well? Probably. Clickbait article over now? Yes indeed.
