For The First Time In Forever, Disneyland Is Adding A New Hotel
For the first time in over 20 years, Disneyland is opening a brand-new Four Diamond Hotel in the west end of Downtown Disney. This will also act as a new anchor and entryway for the park.
The new 700-room hotel will be open by 2021, and Disney is hoping it changes the Anaheim landscape. Tourists and locals alike will marvel at the extensive landscaping, dining, and entertainment options the hotel brings with it. Frankly, it looks beautiful, though it doesn't scream "Disney!" Then again, that's not always a bad thing.
The view from the hotel will largely overlook Downtown Disney, but there are plans for an upper level restaurant which will have a spectacular view of the nightly fireworks show. Some stores past LEGO will have to relocate, and this will significantly change the landscape of Downtown Disney. But the new hotel will generate $25 million in new taxes for its first five years, which will help the city a great deal.
Construction will begin in the summer of 2018.
