Five Nights At Freddy's came out and shocked most with a monster gross of $289 million worldwide. That made it the top-grosser for Blumhouse all-time, and a sequel was all but guaranteed. Weirdly, nothing official has been announced, but the cat seems to be out of the bag this morning, thanks to a new interview with star Josh Hutcherson in Variety. They seem to be actively in development, and he is dying to get started. You can read his comments below.

Five Nights At Freddy's 2 Will Be A Monster

"I know they're in the process right now of nailing down the story, and they want to get going as soon as possible," Hutcherson said. "Obviously, the fans are amazing and die-hard. For me, to be a part of it was so cool and phenomenal. "We hoped it would connect with audiences," he continued. "But I don't think that anybody, even on our side of things, expected it to really connect the way that it did. I'm dying to get back on set. Emma Tammi, our director, was fantastic, and it was such a fun world to play in. I'm excited to see what they are doing next."

Five Nights At Freddy's is a franchise that most thought had box-office potential, but not to the heights it reached. Fans seemed pretty happy with the film, and I actually really enjoyed it. I have never played the games, so I could not even begin to speculate what a sequel will look like. My daughter has opinions, though, and she said that if Circus Baby is not in it, she will riot. I don't know what that means, but hopefully, Blumhouse listens.
