George R R Martin Talks The Winds Of Winter And A New HBO Project
George R R Martin told Entertainment Weekly that he wants to finish the next Game Of Thrones book, The Winds of Winter, before the HBO series premieres season 6. With the television series kicking off season 5 this month, the author has cancelled a couple conventions and turned down a bunch of interviews so he can focus on the novel.
Martin also told them he had just come up with an intriguing twist on a long-time character that he had never previously considered. He hasn't decided for sure to go in that direction, but he feels it's a great twist and born naturally out of the characters.
Though it shouldn't slow him down, it seems HBO has started developing another one of Martin's ideas… Captain Cosmos. The pitch for the series: "At the dawn of the age of TV in 1949, a visionary young writer creates a science fiction series that tells stories no one else will dare to tell." The pilot is being written by Michael Cassutt (Z Nation).
