Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle Sequel Begins Production
If there was a box office surprise of 2017/early 2018 it was how well Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle did. It was a movie that not a lot of people were that excited about and didn't seem like it stood a chance in the busy Christmas season, yet it came out December 20th and went on to dominate not only the domestic but international box offices. It pulled in over $950 million so it wasn't a surprise when Sony Pictures decided there needed to be another sequel. We've been getting some casting announcements and now the best man in PR for Hollywood, star Dwayne Johnson, has taken to Twitter to announce that production had started.
We have to wonder if this man ever takes a break because it always seems like he's shooting a movie. Regardless if you were a fan of the first one it's probably time to start trolling Johnson's Instagram account. He loves to post behind-the-scenes and first-look exclusives to his account. At this point, studios should throw in a bonus marketing fee on top of Johnson's contracts since he does such a good job of marketing the movies he's in.
Untitled Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle Sequel, directed by Jake Kasdan, stars Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Danny DeVito, Darin Ferraro, and Sal Longobardo. It will be released on December 13th, 2019.
