Animated Leonardo da Vinci Film Adds Daisy Ridley and Stephen Fry
The Inventor, a new stop-motion animated film about Leonardo da Vinci, is adding to its voice cast. Stephen Fry will voice da Vinci, while Star Wars heroine Daisy Ridley will voice French Princess Marguerite. The film will "follow the life of the insatiably curious and headstrong inventor as he leaves Italy to join the French court, where he can experiment freely, inventing flying contraptions, incredible machines, and studying the human body. There, joined by the princess, he looks to answer the ultimate question – what is the meaning of it all?" mk2 Films and TheExchange will handle the deal-making for the film, which will be presented to buyers at Cannes. Deadline had the news and debuted an image from the film as well.
"To this day, Leonardo Da Vinci's brilliance is a global inspiration for young and old alike. Having his story told through Jim's brilliant eyes for a family audience, gives this project unique North-American breakout value," added Brian O'Shea of The Exchange.
