Mr. Robot Receives Third Season Renewal

USA has given the green light to Mr. Robot for a third season. The series from creator Sam Esmail was recently nominated for six Emmy's including best drama series and Rami Malek for best actor. The renewal was a little in doubt as the series traditional ratings have been dipping, but the show has faired well with multi-platform / on-demand viewing and reaches an edgier, younger-skewing audience that USA wants.

The series follows Elliot Alderson (Malek), a cyber-security expert who is recruited by the leader of an underground hacker group (Christian Slater) as they go up against Evil Corp. The series also stars Portia Doubleday, Carly Chaikin, Martin Wallstrom and Grace Gummer.
