Netflix Signs Adam Sandler To New Four Movie Deal, Valiantly Keeping Him Out Of Movie Theaters

Diving in front of the bullet once again, Netflix has re-upped its deal with Adam Sandler to produce four more feature films for the streaming service, which will tie the actor up for years and likely prevent him from taking major roles in any live action films with theatrical releases. Sandler has already produced two films so far, The Ridiculous 6 and The Do-Over, which you may remember from seeing them at the top of Netflix's homepage for a few weeks in 2015 and 2016 respectfully before promptly scrolling down and watching something that isn't a new Adam Sandler movie. That leaves two movies left on Sandler's original contract, and four more for the new one, so Sandler could be making movies for Netflix until 2024.

Sandler's next flick will be Sandy Wexler, starring Sandler, Jennifer Hudson, Kevin James, Terry Crews, Lamorne Morris, Nick Swardson, Rob Schneider, Jane Seymour, and Aaron Neville, and debuting on April 14. Sandler plays "a talent manager working in Los Angeles in the 1990s who diligently represents a group of eccentric clients on the fringes of show business." The film is a romantic comedy, with Hudson playing Sandler's love interest.

Netflix has gone on the record saying that Sandler's films have been very successful. We don't know who's watching them, but bless you. You are providing a service for all of humanity. Seriously, Bleeding Cool hasn't written an article about Sandler, until this one, since 2015, when we published the Ridiculous 6 trailer. And we're pretty desperate for clicks. We'll write about anything!
