John Boyega Says 'Pacific Rim: Uprising' Is Larger Than Life
When Legendary decided not to show up to San Diego Comic-Con we were robbed of a panel featuring the upcoming Pacific Rim: Uprising. We did, however, get an intriguing trailer.
The movie is out in February but star John Boyega has already been fielding questions about it. On the press tour for his latest film, Detroit, Boyega was asked about Pacific Rim: Uprising during an interview with Entertainment Weekly:
"It's going to be so cool," says Boyega. "This is a fun movie. It's there to entertain. It's larger than life. Just go in there looking to have a great time. Get you popcorn nice and warm. Your eyes are going to be peeled. We've got a spectacle and [Guillermo] Del Tor's influence is still there. It's going to be really, really cool."
Pacific Rim was a modest hit that became something of a cult classic online with an extremely passionate fanbase. No one was expecting the movie to receive a sequel and fans have been anxious for a new look at the movie; the first trailer provided very little in the way of information as to what this movie is actually going to be about so it looks like we're going to have to wait a little longer before we learn anything.
Over the last few weeks a number of blueprint-like posters have been released that reveal some of the new jaegers:
The next trailer for Pacific Rim: Uprising should be dropping soon so hopefully we'll learn more about the movie soon.
Pacific Rim: Uprising, directed by Steven S. DeKnight, stars John Boyega, Tian Jing, Scott Eastwood, Adria Arjona, Charlie Day, and Burn Gorman. It will be released February 23, 2018.
