The Witcher Movie Is Coming In 2017
The Witcher is a gaming mainstay, but it is all based off of the work of the long running novel series Andrzej Sapkowski. On top of the games and books, the series has seen comic book adaptions and even a lesser known Polish film from 2001.
On the subject of film, a new one has been annoucned by The Mummy studio The Sean Daniel Company. The film is being taken on by Oscar nominated director Tomasz Bagiński, who has direct cinematics for the game in the past. The movie is set for 2017 and is going to feature the "themes" of the stories The Witcher and Lesser Evil.
A Witcher movie could work very well, as the scope for the fantasy landscape is pretty huge. I do worry, without the interactivity though, it could just feel like another grim fantasy movie. We'll have to see how it plays out.
