Tom Holland Mostly Confirms A Spider-Man Trilogy

Duck and cover Tom Holland, Duck and cover! Our little Spider-Man actor might be getting a slap on the wrist from his bosses or a visit from the Marvel secrets knee breaking brigade. Holland is currently in the middle of doing interviews and press rounds for the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming and he might have leaked a detail that we weren't supposed to know yet. A Spider-Man Trilogy?

While talking to the French site Allocine Holland let us know just how many Spider-Man movies are in the works.

"There is still plenty of room to see Peter grow up Parker and especially Spider-Man in the next two movies, and at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming, the story is definitely not complete, I'm really looking forward to exploring how it will grow, [and to] see what will happen after puberty. Yes, [they're] going to be exciting movies."

That was a little vague and the interviewer seemed to know he might have a thread to pull to get an exclusive so he asked for clarification.

"Yes, there will be Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 and Spider-Man: Homecoming 3. Now, you know, sorry, Marvel, oops!"

Apparently after he said this he mimicked being "stung by a dart to silence him" according to the site which could just be a bad translation but it sounds like Holland was mimicking the Marvel snipers we all love to joke about.

This is hardly a confirmation that there's going to be a Tom Holland Mostly Confirms A Spider-Man Trilogy, but it wouldn't be surprising. Sony is all about greenlighting lots of sequels before the first movie has even dropped. It's likely that Sony just feels like they have a hit and are jumping at the chance for a franchise. There is a good chance we won't know for awhile but maybe Holland should go into hiding for possibly violating a NDA.

Summary: Following the events of Captain America: Civil War (2016), Peter Parker attempts to balance his life in high school with his career as the web-slinging superhero Spider-Man.

Spider-Man: Homecoming, directed by Jon Watts, stars Tom Holland, Robert Downey Jr., Marisa Tomei, Donald Glover, Zendaya, Tony Revolori, and Michael Keaton. Swing on down to your local theater and check it out on July 7th.
