Vince McMahon's XFL Is Getting A Hall Of Fame For Some Reason

In 2001, WWE owner Vince McMahon and NBC mogul Dick Ebersol founded a new professional football organization that aimed to compete with the NFL by bringing all the charming aspects of pro wrestling to football. It failed miserably, lasting for only one season. However, with an upcoming ESPN 30 for 30 documentary telling the ill-fated league's story coming out on February 2, the XFL is getting a hall of fame.

Well, it'll just be a "pop up" hall of fame, and it appears to be aimed more at promoting the documentary than anything else. It will open on January 14 at the Helen Mills Event Space and Theater in Chelsea, New York City, and will feature artifacts from the league such as "He Hate Me" jerseys, appearances by league stars, and a behind the scenes video from the XFL cheerleaders' Playboy shoot.

Relive 2001 on January 14 by visiting the XFL hall of fame (come on, you don't have anything better to do that day), and then check out the show when it debuts on February 2.
